Acknowledging someone for their community service does promote who they are as a person. Acknowledging someone for their excellent products and services goes a long way to promote that member. TIP: Include their name and specific details about their service. "Thanks for the cool widget!" isn't as powerful as "Jane, Thank you for helping me select just the right widget for my company. I really appreciate the extra time you took to make sure I understood my options. I couldn't have done it without you."
